The indigenous animals of the Virgin Islands include:
Reptiles - Iguanas and Leatherback turtles
Fish - Shark, snapper, grunts, grouper, old wife, and other reef fish
Mammals - Bats, the ONLY mammal native to the Virgin Islands.
Birds - Herons, egrets, brown pelicans, terns, boobies, bananaquits, thrashers, hummingbirds, pigeons, the red-tailed
hawks, and the American kestrel
